  1. Konsep Makkîyah dan Madanîyah dalam Studi Hadîth: Menggagas Pemetaan Kronologis Hadîth Nabawî

Directory of Open Access Journals (Sweden)

    Dzikri Nirwana

    2014-01-01

Full Text Available The Qur’ânic Studies have long recognized the conceptual dichotomy of Makkîyah and Madaniyah where verses are classified as either belonging to the period of Makkah or Madinah. This paper suggests that this conceptual dichotomy may also be applied in the study of the science of the prophetic saying (hadîth. We propose that paradigm of the Qur’ânic Studies concerning the periodical distinction may be borrowed to understand and classify the prophetic sayings along the line of Makkîyah and Madanîyah. The paper however acknowledges this effort is not without methodological difficulties. There are hadîth that may –in terms of their characteristics and substance- be regarded as Makkî, but may also be considered as Madani because they are narrated by the people of Madinah (the Ansâr. To tackle this problem, we propose double-way strategy. We will first find out which hadîths are regarded as Makkî in terms of their characteristics and substance, and then examine the idea of what many have called the “argumentation of the prophetic term”. The first is about the thematic study, while the second is about the analysis of the term of a hadîth. The first will involve the consultation of mainly the hadîth authoritative book called Miftâh Kunûz al-Sunnah, while the second will consult those books that employ the personal-encyclopedic approach including books of hadîth, the sciences of the Qur’ân (tafsîr, the reason of revelation (asbâb al-nuzûl, the reason of decreeing (asbâb al-wurûd, and the autobiography of the prophet (sîrah. The meaning of a hadîth and its appropriation in these books will be analyzed in the light of the science of hadîth. The paper will examine how different scientists of tafsir, hadîth and so on would understand and interpret the same hadîth.

  7. Mechanical break junctions: enormous information in a nanoscale package.

    Science.gov (United States)

    Natelson, Douglas

    2012-04-24

Mechanical break junctions, particularly those in which a metal tip is repeatedly moved in and out of contact with a metal film, have provided many insights into electronic conduction at the atomic and molecular scale, most often by averaging over many possible junction configurations. This averaging throws away a great deal of information, and Makk et al. in this issue of ACS Nano demonstrate that, with both simulated and real experimental data, more sophisticated two-dimensional analysis methods can reveal information otherwise obscured in simple histograms. As additional measured quantities come into play in break junction experiments, including thermopower, noise, and optical response, these more sophisticated analytic approaches are likely to become even more powerful. While break junctions are not directly practical for useful electronic devices, they are incredibly valuable tools for unraveling the electronic transport physics relevant for ultrascaled nanoelectronics.

  8. On the Theotokia in the Canon for St. Wenceslas

Directory of Open Access Journals (Sweden)

    2016-08-01

Full Text Available The present paper reports on the first results from the investigation of the Church Slavonic canon composed for the Czech saint Wenceslas (Václav, Viacheslav and preserved in East Slavic manuscripts from the end of the 11th century. Particular attention has been given to the analysis of the Marian hymns (theotokia, whose Greek originals could be detected in all cases but one (the first ode. The Slavonic translation has been thoroughly compared with its Greek original and with other versions taken from different canons. Following the critical edition of each single Slavonic text, a synoptic interlinear version is provided, which allows the immediate identification of common readings, errors, and omissions. The theotokia contained in the canon for Wenceslas show interesting similarities with the textual tradition documented in the Oktoechos and the Common of Saints, the latter being usually associated with Clement of Ohrid; a possible explanation of this fact could be that these texts were not newly translated from Greek, but taken from already existing hymnographic sources. Undoubtedly, much deeper analysis is required in order to disentangle the textual history of these texts; the collected material aims to provide a good starting point for further investigations.

    2016-03-01

Full Text Available The study planed to identify a suitable alternative to the FAO-56 Penman-Monteith (FAO56PM equation for calculating reference evapotranspiration (ET0 from chosen temperature and radiation based models utilizing monthly meteorological data from 30 destinations in diverse agro-ecological regions of the Northeast (NE India i.e., Assam Bengal Plain (ABP, eastern Himalaya (EH, and the northeastern hilly (NEH region. Radiation-based IRMAK3 most appropriate in the ABP (weighted root mean square deviation, WRMSD=0.17 mm d−1, r2=0.98, for Nagrakata, and TURC model being in the first three rank of most of the sites, with the lowest error and highest correlation in NEH (WRMSD=0.10 mm d−1, r2=0.92, for Shillong, and EH (WRMSD=0.23 mm d−1, r2=0.95, for Gangtok. Findings reveal that IRMAK3 and TURC models performed equally well and were observed to be the best among selected models for the majority of stations followed by FAO24 Blaney-Criddle (FAO24BC, and 1957MAKK. Pair-wise regression equations were developed for preferred FAO56PM ET0 estimates to ET0 estimates by alternative methods. Cross-correlation of eighteen chose methods demonstrated that the five equations (i.e. four radiation- and one temperature-based performed exceptionally well when contrasted with the FAO56PM model, thus being advised for assessing ET0 under limiting data conditions as have yielded a better estimate of ET0 with a small error.

  13. Forms of Recall – Politics of Memory. Memory as the Non-Chronological Narrative Form of Historical-Political Identity Quest in the Kádár Regime and Its Survival in the Postcommunist Period

Directory of Open Access Journals (Sweden)

    Gelencsér Gábor

    2017-09-01

Full Text Available In the film art of the Kádár regime the modernist non-chronological narrative mode became the dominant form of remembrance and communicative memory. In the 35-year period between 1956 and 1990 we can find thirty-five films of this type (e.g. Dialogue [Párbeszéd, János Herskó, 1963], Twenty Hours [Húsz óra, Zoltán Fábri, 1965], Cold Days [Hideg napok, András Kovács, 1966], Love [Szerelem, Károly Makk, 1971], Lovefilm [Szerelmesfilm, István Szabó, 1970], Diary for My Children [Napló gyermekeimnek, Márta Mészáros, 1982], the majority of which thematize the communicative memory of the recent past of the period (World War II, the Hungarian Holocaust, the 1950s, 1956, the Kádár consolidation as opposed to the amnesia politics of the time. Although this cinematic corpus is connected to the film history of the Kádár era with all its elements (form: modernism; theme: communicative memory; political discourse: recollection; official politics of memory; the counterdiscourse of Kádár’s amnesia politics, it survives in the postcommunist period (e.g. Hungarian Fragment [Pannon töredék, András Sólyom, 1998], White Palms [Fehér tenyér, Szabolcs Hajdu, 2006], Mom and Other Loonies in the Family [Anyám és más futóbolondok a családból, Ibolya Fekete, 2015]. After presenting the non-chronological narrative form of historical-political identity quest, the paper seeks to find reasons for the survival of this form and tries to draw conclusions regarding the social aspect and modes of expression of the Hungarian film history of the postcommunist period.

vibrational spectra of clusters and carbon-based nanostructures, just to name a few of the low-dimensional systems addressed in this special issue, can be both accurately computed from first principles and measured experimentally. Even less computationally demanding semi-empirical simulations based on tight-binding or continuum models play a crucial role in assessing, for instance, the interplay between morphology, defects and the elastic properties of low-dimensional systems. The impressive amount of work and progress achieved in the past decade within the general theory and spectroscopy of the dynamics of low-dimensional systems is marked by several relevant trends that are exemplified by the contributions gathered together in this special issue. They span a wide spectrum of experimental and theoretical methods applied to the study of the dynamical properties of low-dimensional systems and new emerging phenomena at the nanoscale, such as the peculiar optical properties of ring shaped quantum dots, plasmon dynamics in metallic nanoclusters and the relaxation dynamics of nanomagnets. This issue is dedicated to our esteemed colleague Giorgio Benedek on the occasion of his 70th birthday. It collects together a number of papers written by authors from all over the world with a recognized reputation in the above mentioned fields where Giorgio Benedek has made important and fundamental contributions. Africa-Europe convergence vector. Pliocene-Quaternary was characterised by 1-5 km left lateral wrenching along the Mid-Hungarian Mobile Belt. Based on high resolution seismic measurements on the Danube river Toth (2003) supposed an even more recent activity along the Paks-Szolnok wrench fault zone. The supposed late Quaternary activity of the Mid-Hungarian Mobile Belt is supported by recent hydrogeologic investigations. According to Mádl-Szőnyi et al (2005) and Simon et al (in press) from the Pre-Neogene basement originates an ascending overpressured highly saline water flow regime. Deep ascending water rises near to the surface, intercepting the aquifer and aquitard layers along conductive strike slipe faults of the Mid-Hungarian Mobile Belt and mixing with shallower groundwater.
