  4. Comparison of Four Narrations of Leili and Majnoon Nezami, Amirkhosro, Jami and Maktabi

Directory of Open Access Journals (Sweden)

    A Shoghi Novbar

    2009-03-01

Full Text Available "Leili and Majnoon" written by Nezami (584 A.H. is among the romantic masterpieces in the Persian Literature which up to 57 parody tellers have worked on it. In this article, from among these parodies three closest narrations to Nezami's work have been selected. These were, chronologically, composed by Amirkhosro Dehlavi (698 A.H., Abdolrahman Jami (889 A.H. and Maktabi Shirazi (895 A.H.. We also describe the story of each narration and briefly present their plot similarities and differences by means of 29 story motifs in a chart and, then, we would analyze and compare them with Nezami's narration in detail. These considerations indicate that after Nezami, the conformists have not been so bound to the origin of narration. In fact, they have changed the origin of story, and meanwhile, present their verbal art. These changes have been mostly exemplified in Jami's narration and then Amirkhosro's work. Maktabi Shirazi has kept all actions of Nezami's narration however he has increased a few new scenes to the narration.

  9. The Analysis of The Starting Pattern in Nezami’s Khosrow va Shirin, Leili va Majnoun and Haft Peykar

Directory of Open Access Journals (Sweden)

    Tayebe Ja’fari

    2016-05-01

Full Text Available AbstractAccording to what Nezami states in his versified story Khosro va Shirin, King Hormoz is a fair and peasant-supporter monarch and everything is alright in his time. The only matter which bothers the King’s mind and feelings is the sadness of having no child. But this piteous sadness is removed after vowing, sacrificing and being born a boy as a result. This boy is totally different from his age children because of his unique characteristics.    Leili va Majnoon’s starting pattern can be Khosro va Shirin’s starting pattern simply by having some changes in characters. In this poem, the memoir related to the chieftain of Amer, who was one of the Arab grandees and has a settled land, is expressed. He is an artist who has a significant reputation in hospitality and being mendicant-adherent, but the sadness of having no child makes him like King Hormoz, so he decides to vow and sacrifice and asks God to give him a child.   Based on an archetypal approach, the boy who has been requested by prayer in Khosrow va Shirin, Leili va Majnoon, and other myths is an archetypal item that these literary works’ starting patterns are the expression of common conditions before, during, and after his birth. He is the heavenly child who has been born to make a great upheaval.   Based on an archetypal approach, the heavenly child can be considered as the best form of emanation of the potential aspect of Ego in dreams and myths in which the king, as the actual aspect of this archetype, wishes this child’s birth; to reach his perfect ideal. With this paraphastic approach, Khosrow Parviz and King Hormoz are respectively the potential and the actual aspect of Ego. Hormoz is the actual part that is almost perfect. He is an ideal, fair and peasant-supporter king. But this perfect person is only some parts of his talent who has reached the actuality and can be manifest. This potential aspect is the child whom the king is

  14. Cytogenetic characterization of two species of Frieseomelitta Ihering, 1912 (Hymenoptera, Apidae, Meliponini

Directory of Open Access Journals (Sweden)

    Antônio F. Carvalho

    2011-01-01

Full Text Available The cytogenetic analysis of Frieseomelitta dispar and F. francoi revealed the chromosome numbers 2n = 30 and n = 15 and a karyotypic formula 2K = 4M+2Mt+4A+20A M. The number of chromosomes observed was consistent with those reported for other Frieseomelitta species. The occurrence of the Mt chromosome and other features of the karyotype formulae suggest a close relationship between F. dispar, F. francoi and F. varia. Nevertheless, it was possible to differentiate the karyotypes of the species by DAPI/CMA3 staining, which revealed GC-rich regions on two chromosome pairs of F. dispar: one acrocentric and one pseudoacrocentric. In F. francoi, the same kinds of regions were observed on a pair of metacentrics and on a pair of acrocentrics. Our analysis also confirmed the chromosome number conservation in Frieseomelitta and suggests that infrequent pericentric inversion could constitute a synapomorphy for the group including F. dispar, F. francoi, and F. varia.

  15. Description of karyotype in Hypostomus regani (Ihering, 1905 (Teleostei, Loricariidae from the Piumhi river in Brazil with comments on karyotype variation found in Hypostomus

Directory of Open Access Journals (Sweden)

    Ernani de Oliveira Mendes-Neto

    2011-07-01

Full Text Available The paper represents a comparative cytogenetic analysis of three populations of Hypostomus regani in Brazil. Two populations belong to the Upper Paraná River Basin and the third one, the karyotype of which is described for the first time, was probably introduced into the São Francisco River Basin through transposition from the Piumhi River. Karyotype features of populations of H. regani from the Piracicaba and Tietê River Basins are also discussed. The occurrence of H. regani in the São Francisco River Basin is reported for the first time here. The study also revealed distinct differences in the location of the Ag-NORs between the analyzed populations that enable individuals from the Piumhi River, Mogi-Guaçu River and Tietê River to be distinguished from one another. Thus, the data obtained indicate the possibility of geographic variation fixing different karyotypes even in the same basin of origin.

Hypostominae, its more complex subfamily, was recently divided into five tribes. The tribe Hypostomini is composed of a single genus, Hypostomus Lacépède, 1803, which exhibits the largest karyotypic diversity in the family Loricariidae. With the main objective of contributing to a better understanding of the relationship and the patterns of evolution among the karyotypes of Hypostomus species, cytogenetic studies were conducted in six species of the genus from Brazil and Venezuela. The results show a great chromosome variety with diploid numbers ranging from 2n=68 to 2n=76, with a clear predominance of acrocentric chromosomes. The Ag-NORs are located in terminal position in all species analyzed. Three species have single Ag-NORs (Hypostomus albopunctatus (Regan, 1908, H. prope plecostomus (Linnaeus, 1758, and H. prope paulinus (Ihering, 1905 and three have multiple Ag-NORs (H. ancistroides (Ihering, 1911, H. prope iheringi (Regan, 1908, and H. strigaticeps (Regan, 1908. In the process of karyotype evolution of the group, the main type of chromosome rearrangements was possibly centric fissions, which may have been facilitated by the putative tetraploid origin of Hypostomus species. The relationship between the karyotype changes and the evolution in the genus is discussed.

Full Text Available The surface topography and ultrastructure of the tegument of Paranaella luquei Kohn, Baptista-Farias & Cohen, 2000, a microcotylid monogenean parasite from the gills of Hypostomus regani (Ihering, 1905 (Loricariidae was studied by scanning (SEM and transmission electron microscopy (TEM. By SEM, it was observed that the tegument presents transversal ridges, forming folds in the ventral and dorsal surfaces and microvillous-like tegumental projections in the anterior and median regions of body. These projections were also observed by TEM. The tegument is made up of a syncytium delimited by apical and basal plasma membranes, containing inclusion bodies and mitochondria, connected to the nucleated region by means of cytoplasmatic processes. The tegumental cells present a well developed nucleus and cytoplasm containing inclusion bodies, similar to those found on the external layer, mitochondria, rough endoplasmatic reticulum and free ribossomes.

Full Text Available Ecological studies were conducted in the ichthyofauna of Cedro, a small headwater stream located in a degraded area of State of São Paulo, Brazil, situated in the upper Paraná River basin. These are the results of two non-consecutive years observations and collections in two biotopes of that stream: a pool and a rapid. The ecological characteristics studied change in space and time. The present richness of species is high (21 species, nine of which are constant, six accessory and six accidental. The diversity is low (0.69 to 2.38, and the numeric predominance, from one to three species, occurred in both biotopes. The most frequent species are Poecilia reticulata (Peters, 1859 (28.1%, Corydoras cf. aeneus (Gill, 1858 (20.3% and Hypostomus cf. ancistroides (Ihering, 1911 (19.8%. The density ranges from 0.7 to 19.8 specimens/m³. The similarity index indicates high similarity between the ichthyofauna (45.0% to 95.0% inside the same or contiguous biotopes. The evenness (0.46 to 1.0 is comparable to those found in similar studies carried out in other streams.

The eriococcid genus Capulinia Signoret currently comprises four Neotropical species (the type species C. sallei Signoret, C. crateraformis Hempel, C. jaboticabae Ihering and an undescribed species recognised in the literature) and one species from New Zealand (C. orbiculata Hoy). All species feed on plants in the family Myrtaceae and the undescribed species is a pest of guava, Psidium guajava, in Venezuela and Colombia. Here we describe the pest species based on the adult female and first-instar nymph and name it Capulinia linarosae Kondo & Gullan sp. n. We provide a summary of published information on the biology and pest status of C. linarosae by translating the Spanish literature. We also describe the adult female and first-instar nymph of a new Argentine species that we name as C. luma Kondo & Gullan sp. n. after its host Luma apiculata. In addition, we redescribe the adult female of C. jaboticabae and include notes on C. crateraformis, C. orbiculata and C. sallei. We provide a revised generic diagnosis and keys to all Capulinia species based on adult females and, where available, first-instar nymphs, as well as a revised key to South American eriococcid genera. Phylogenetic analyses of 18S rDNA place Capulinia within the "Gondwanan" clade of eriococcids, mostly likely within the Myrtaceae-feeding group.

Full Text Available The construction of reservoirs is considered an important source of impacts on the fish fauna, severely altering the structure of the assemblage. This paper aimed to describe the structure of the fish assemblage of the Goioerê River, determining its longitudinal distribution and patterns of species dominance. The evaluation of its longitudinal variation in the diversity and abundance of the fish assemblage was conducted in July and October 2004 and January and May 2005. The collections were carried out near the headwaters (Gurucaia, middle stretch (Olaria, just above the falls (Paiquerê and downstream (Foz. Forty-four species were captured. The Gurucaia fish assemblages differed significantly from Olaria, Paiquerê and Foz. The Olaria assemblages differed significantly from the Foz. Gurucaia showed the lowest diversity and abundance of species. Astyanax aff paranae Eigenmann,1914 (78% of the total was found to be dominant at this site. Almost the same species richness was found at Olaria and Paiquerê, although Olaria had the greatest abundance of individuals. Astyanax aff paranae, Cyphocharax modestus (Fernández-Yépez, 1948 and Astyanax altiparanae Garutti & Britski, 2000 were the top three dominants and comprised over 71% of the total number of fish caught. At Paiquerê, Astyanax altiparanae, Hypostomus aff ancistroides (Ihering, 1911 and Loricariichthys platymetopon Isbrücker & Nijssen, 1979 composed 58% of the catches. Thirty-one species were recorded at Foz, which presented the greatest richness. The most abundant species were Apareiodon affinis (Steindachner, 1879, Galeocharax knerii (Steindachner, 1879 and A.altiparanae, which contributed to 50% of the total catches in this environment. These results record the fish biodiversity and how the community is longitudinally structured in the Goioerê River, and also demonstrate how this type of evaluation is important to understanding the fish community patterns and finding solutions to

Full Text Available The original description of Temnocephala iheringi Haswell, 1893 was based on specimens collected by Hermann von Ihering from undetermined ampullariid apple snails, which at that time were identified as Ampullaria sp., and sent to William H. Haswell, with the type locality simply indicated as Brazil. The type specimens studied by Haswell were not found in the scientific collections of Brazil, Europe or Australia, and should be considered lost. In 1941, Pereira & Cuocolo collected specimens from apple snails, identified as Pomacea lineata (Spix in Wagner, 1827, at two localities (Guaicurús and Salobra in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, central Brazil. These specimens could not be located either and should, thus, be considered lost as well. Pomacea canaliculata (Lamarck, 1822, the main host of T. iheringi in southern Brazil, is known to have a geographical distribution that reaches Uruguay and 400 km beyond the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Three hundred and one mollusks were collected from 1999 to 2007. Temnocephalans found in the pallial cavity presented a greenish body pigmentation (adults and lacked eye pigment of any color, including the red-eye pigment, typical of Neotropical species of Temnocephala Blanchard, 1849; straight cirrus, with a thick band at base of the introvert' swelling; and a single, circular, asymmetric vaginal sphincter, wider in diameter in the posterior portion. As the species occurs concurrently with two other species, at least in P. canaliculata from Rio Grande do Sul, the eggs of T. iheringi could not be reliably distinguished. A redescription of the species is provided. A comparison of data from the present work with those of earlier papers published on T. iheringi from Argentina showed that the Argentinean specimens had the smallest measurements.

These published articles are from Austrlia, Bangldesh, India, lndonasia, Iran, Malaysia. Pakistan, Serbia, Turkey and USA.The first Notes for editor arrived from USA, written by Kevin YEE and Jace HARGIS. They focused on Google Moderator and Other Clicker Alternatives. In their notes they mentioned that Students register the device on the company Web site, and the instructor synchronizes the database in order to know which students have registered devices, thus creating accountability for “quizzes” in class. During the lecture, students “vote” for multiple choice answers on screen, and real-time results are displayed (anonymously after the polling is finished, providing instant formative feedback. Another model is for a department or institution to purchase clickers and make available in the classroom. Students pick up the clicker as they enter the room each day and replace when exiting. Using this approach does not allow for direct accountability, unless students are registered to a specific number on the clicker, which is documented and tracked. The second notes for editor is titled as “The Effect Of Virtual Versus Traditional Learning In Achieving Competency-Based Skills” which is written by Leili MOSALANEJAD, Sakine SHAHSAVARI and Mehdi DASTPAK from IRAN.
