Resumen en español El objetivo de este trabajo fue implementar un método de obtención de datos cinéticos, en un cristalizador batch agitado, e implementar un sistema de medición automatizado con estos fines. Se aplica al estudio de la cinética de cristalización de nitrato de potasio. El equipo utilizado para el estudio de la cinética, consiste en un cristalizador de vidrio, de 2 lts., con camisa de refrigeración y control de velocidad de agitación; provisto de una unidad automatiza (mas) da, que permite la programación y el control del perfil térmico cúbico con un computador, además del monitoreo y registro de las variables de interés en el cristalizador. El método implementado para el cálculo de datos cinéticos permite determinar los siguientes parámetros en función del tiempo: masa y número de cristales, tamaño medio de cristales,densidad de suspensión, grado de sobresaturación, velocidad de nucleación y velocidad de crecimiento cristalino. El método se aplicó a cristalización de KNO3y se encontró una expresión para la velocidad de crecimiento G en función del grado de sobresaturación DCy de la temperatura T, dada por la ecuación: 30000 GKNO3 = 9.85 x 10-7 exp (.________) DC RT [/abstract] PALABRAS CLAVES: [keygrp scheme=nd][ign][keyword type=m language=es]KNO3[ign], [keyword type=m language=es]cristalización[ign],[keyword type=m language=es]batch[ign][ign]. Anautomatic measurement system was implemented for this purpose. The equipment used to study the kinetics of crystallization consist of a 2 liters glass crystallizer with cooling jacket and agitation speedcontrol. An automatic control unit was developed that allows the programmingand control a a cubic thermal profile and monitors the variables of interestin the crystallizer. The following parameters are determined with respect to time: mass and crystal number, mean size of crystals, suspension density, supersaturationgra de, nucleation rate and linear crystal growth rate. Resumen en español Se halló dachiardita cálcica en brechas de rocas volcánicas cretácicas afectadas por metamorfismo de muy bajo grado. El cemento de la brecha presenta cuarzo, dachiardita cálcica, mordenita, cristobalita, calcita y siderita, mientras que en los clastos hay pectolita, prehnita, yugawaralita, dachiardita cálcica, albita, adularia, interestratificados de esmectita clorita (S/C), cuarzo y cristobalita. La mayor parte de dachiardita se halla en el cemento de la brecha, do (mas) nde forma estructuras tubulares que contienen cristales hojosos a tabulares, paralelos o levemente radiados dispuestos en capas concéntricas y elongados a lo largo del eje cristalográfico 'b' y de los tubos; los cristales están achatados según {001} o raramente {100}. Muestra maclas cíclicas en la sección perpendicular al alargamiento y maclas múltiples paralelas a {001}, aunque también hay individuos sin maclar. Las características ópticas son: a=b; g:c= 43°; 2Va= 55°/60°; dispersión fuerte r>v. La fórmula estructural es: Ca1,54-1.72 K0,82-0,98 Na0 (Al3,65-3,98 Si19,95-20,25 O48) 13H2O ; T Si= 0,83-0,85; R2+/ (R+ + R2+) = 0,61/0,68; DEC = Ca y K. Las líneas de difracción más fuertes son: 3,460 Å; 3,190 Å y 1,870 Å; a0 =18,679 Å; b0=7,488 Å; c0=10,267 Å; b=107°86'. La sucesión mineralógica secundaria depositada con el descenso de la temperatura y cambios en la Xco2 sería: calcita (etapa I); pectolita, prehnita, yugawaralita, cuarzo, dachiardita cálcica, interestratificados S/C, adularia, albita (etapa II, facies de ceolita); mordenita y cristobalita (etapa III) y por último, calcita y siderita (etapa IV). Las paragénesis metamórficas indican temperaturas de formación para la dachiardita cálcica de 200 a 220°C a presiones menores que 0,5 kb, a partir de fluidos enriquecidos en aSi y aCa Resumen en inglés Mineralogy and paragenesis of Ca-dachiardite in Cretaceous zeolitized volcanic rocks, Esquel, Chubut, Argentinian Patagonia. Ca-dachiardite is present in Cretaceous volcanic breccias affected by very low grade metamorphism. The cement of the breccia shows quartz, Ca-dachiardite, mordenite, cristobalite, calcite and siderite, while in the clasts there are pectolite, prehnite, yugawaralite, Ca-dachiardite, albite, adularia, interestratified smectite/chlorite (S/C), quartz a (mas) nd cristobalite. Most Ca-dachiardites are found in the cement of the breccia. It occurs principally as fibrous tubes of parallel or lightly divergent bladed and tabular crystals, arranged in concentrical layers with length along 'b' and the fibers; the crystals are flattened on {001} and rarely on {100}. It shows cyclic twins in cross section normal to the length and multiple twins parallel to {001}, but single crystals are also present. The optical character shows: a=b; g:c= 43°; 2Va=55°/60°; strong dispersion r>v. The structural formulae is: Ca1.54-1.72 K0.82-0.98 Na0 (Al3.65-3.98 Si19.95-20.25 O48) 13H2O ; T Si= 0.83-0.85; R2+/(R+ + R2+)=0.61/0.68; DEC=Ca and K. The strong diffraction lines are: 3.460 Å; 3.190 Å and 1.870 Å; a0 =18.679Å; b0=7.488 Å; c0 10.267 Å; b=107°86'. The secondary mineralogical succession deposited according with the decrease in temperature and Xco2, could be: calcite (step I); pectolite, prehnite, quartz, yugawaralite, Ca-dachiardite, S/C, adularia, albite (step II, zeolite facies); mordenite and cristobalite (step III) and then, siderite and calcite (step IV). The metamorphic assemblages suggests that the crystallization conditions of Ca-dachiardite would be 200-220°C at pressures smaller than 0.5 kb, from high aSi and aCa fluids

Resumen en portugués Descrevem-se por primeira vez a estrutura morfo-anatômica e estratégias hídricas de duas orquídeas das selvas nubladas andinas da Venezuela, Maxillaria miniata e Pleurothallis cardiantha. O estudo foi efetuado em uma selva nublada pouco intervencionada e no bosque secundário do Jardim Botânico da Universidade dos Andes, Venezuela. As amostras recolhidas foram fixadas em FAA e submetidas a métodos tradicionais de anatomia vegetal e de MEB. Determinaram-se seus poten (mas) ciais hídricos foliares durante o ano 2004-2005, para determinar se apresentam um comportamento CAM típico, CAM facultativo o C3. Ambas as espécies exibem caracteres xeromórficos em seus órgãos vegetativos. M. miniata apresenta pseudobulbos como principais reservatórios hídricos, folhas finas cartáceas, células epidérmicas de paredes engrossadas, hipoderme adaxial bi estratificada e abaxial uni-estratificada, clorênquima homogêneo com feixes bem desenvolvidos, abundante esclerênquima, e cristais cilícios associados a tecidos epidérmicos e esclerenquimáticos. Em contraste, P. cardiantha apresenta folhas suculentas a coriáceas, epiderme adaxial papilosa, mesofilo heterogêneo, feixes pequenos, pouco desenvolvidos e hipoderme aqüífera pluri-estratificada em ambas caras, que junto com os idioblastos aqüíferos do clorênquima constituem os tecidos de reserva de água. Os potenciais hídricos registrados nestas espécies se mantiveram elevados e quase invariáveis durante todo o ano, o qual sugere um metabolismo CAM em ambos os casos. Resumen en español Se describen por primera vez la estructura morfo-anatómica y estrategias hídricas de dos orquídeas de las selvas nubladas andinas de Venezuela, Maxillaria miniata y Pleurothallis cardiantha. El estudio se efectuó en una selva nublada poco intervenida y en el bosque secundario del Jardín Botánico de la Universidad de los Andes, Venezuela. Las muestras recolectadas fueron fijadas en FAA y sometidas a métodos tradicionales de anatomía vegetal y de MEB. Se determinaro (mas) n sus potenciales hídricos foliares durante el año 2004-2005, para determinar si presentan un comportamiento CAM típico, CAM facultativo o C3. Ambas especies exhiben caracteres xeromórficos en sus órganos vegetativos. M. miniata presenta seudobulbos como principales reservorios hídricos, hojas delgadas cartáceas, células epidérmicas de paredes engrosadas, hipodermis adaxial biestratificada y abaxial uniestratificada, clorénquima homogéneo con haces bien desarrollados, abundante esclerénquima, y cristales silíceos asociados a tejidos epidérmicos y esclerenquimáticos. En contraste, P. cardiantha presenta hojas suculentas a coriáceas, epidermis adaxial papilosa, mesófilo heterogéneo, haces pequeños, poco desarrollados e hipodermis acuífera pluriestratificada en ambas caras, que junto con los idioblastos acuíferos del clorénquima constituyen los tejidos de reserva de agua. Los potenciales hídricos registrados en estas especies se mantuvieron elevados y casi invariables durante todo el año, lo cual sugiere un metabolismo CAM en ambos casos. Resumen en inglés The morpho-anatomical vegetative structure and water-storing strategies of two orchids of the Venezuelan Cloud Forests, Pleurothallis cardiantha and Maxillaria miniata, are described for the first time. Field work was conducted in a relatively preserved Cloud Forest and a secondary forest of the Botanical Garden of the Universidad de los Andes, Venezuela, located in the same vicinity. Botanical specimens were stored in FAA and submitted to standard plant anatomy microtech (mas) nique procedures, including SEM. Monthly leaf-water potentials were recorded during 2004-2005 in order to determine whether these species behave as typical CAM, facultative CAM or C3 species. Both exhibit xeromorphic characters in their vegetative organs. M. mineata presents pseudobulbs as main water storing structures, thin cartaceous leaves, epidermal and sclerenchymatic tissues associated with siliceous crystals, adaxial hypodermis double layered, single-layered abaxial hypodermis, homogenous mesophyll with well developed collateral bundles, and abundant sclerenchyma. P. cardiantha, in contrast, presents moderately succulent to coriaceous leaves, adaxial epidermal cell forming papillae, heterogenous mesophyll with poorly developed vascular bundles. The water-storing tissues in this species involve the adaxial and abaxial hypodermis, as well as the acuiferous idioblasts located in the spongy parenchyma. The leaf water-potentials registered were high and remained practically invariable during the year, which suggests a typical CAM metabolism in both cases.

Resumen en español En este trabajo presentamos la variación en temperatura de los fonones activos en Raman en monocristales de MnGa2Se4 en el rango de 4 a 700 K. Nuestros resultados muestran que esta variación queda completamente descrita si tomamos en cuenta la interacción fonón-fonón y la contribución debida a la dilatación térmica. La contribución predominante en el potencial anarmónico es la cúbica (procesos a tres fonones), la contribución cuártica (procesos a cuatro fonones) es prácticamente despreciable. Resumen en inglés We have measured the temperature dependence of the first-order Raman scattering of MnGa2Se4 single-crystals in the range 4-700 K. The analysis of the temperature dependence of the optical phonons shows that the Raman shift is successfully modeled by including thermal expansion and phonon-phonon coupling. The pure temperature contribution is dominated by the cubic interactions (three-phonon coupling). Four- phonon coupling (quartic interaction) is less important.

Resumen en español Las propiedades ópticas de monocristales del sistema espinela Cd1-xMn xIn2S4 (x=1.0; 0.8), han sido estudiadas por la técnica de absorción óptica. Del análisis de los datos experimentales, se encontró que la brecha de energía en el MnIn2S4 (x = 1.0) varía desde 2.012 a 1.898 eV entre 9 y 300 K. La dependencia de Eg con la temperatura fue analizada considerando dos modelos teóricos reportados en la literatura. El mejor ajuste fue obtenido usando la expresión de P (mas) ässler. La temperatura de Debye del MnIn2S4 fue estimada alrededor de 153 K, que corresponde a una energía efectiva de los fonones e f f = K Bθ 10 meV para dicho compuesto. Resumen en inglés The optical properties of spinel single crystals of Cd1-xMn xIn2S4 (x=1.0; 0.8) have been studied by optical absorption technique. From the analysis of the experimental data, it was found that the band gap energy Eg of MnIn2S4 (x = 1.0), varies from 2.012 to 1.898 eV between 9 and 300 K. The temperature dependence of Eg, was analyzed by considering two theoretical models reported in the literature. The best fit was obtained by using an expression proposed by Passler. The (mas) Debye temperature of MnIn2S4 was estimated to be around 153 K, that correspond to an effective phonon energy e f f = K Bθ 10 meV for this compound.
