Godoy, Susmira; Chicco, Claudio; Requena, Fanny
2002-09-01

La AA y la EU del P, con adición de 0,20% de P, fueron superiores (P Resumen en inglés True absorption coefficients and phosphorus kinetics, as well as fluorine retention, were determined in lambs fed with the Venezuelan sedimentary phosphates most commonly used, Riecito (RIO), Monte Fresco (MONTE), with a fertilizer (triple super-phosphate; SPT) and with dicalcium phosphate (DICAL) as a control. Sixteen male lambs (West African), with 25kg ±1.76 average body weight were randomly assigned in groups of four to the four treatments (phosphates). Lambs were ke (mas) pt in metabolism crates during 21 days, 14 for adaptation and 7 to record feed intake and excreta. To the basal diet, containing 0.12% P, 14.3% estimated crude protein (PCE) and 2,97 Mcal estimated metabolizable energy (EME)/kg, both calculated on the basis of chemical composition of diet ingredients, two levels of added inorganic phosphorus (0.05 and 0.20%) were added from the different phosphates to measure apparent absorption, apparent net retention, utilization eficiency and true absorption. The lambs fed with 0.20% added phosphorus were intravenously dosed with 200 µC of 32P to measure fecal endogenous phosphorus and kinetics of 32P. An isotopic dilution technique was used to measure true absorption. At 0.20% added P, absorption measurements were greater (P

Respuesta productiva y mineralización ósea de pollos de engorde alimentados con fosfatos sedimentarios según biodisponibilidad del fósforo/ Growth and Bone Mineralization of Broiler Chicks Fed with Sedimentary Phosphates Adjusted by Phosphorus Bioavailability

Susmira, Godoy; Chicco, C.F
2006-02-01

The effect of feeding phosphorus in broiler chickens from non defluorinated raw rock phosphates, adjusted according their specific bioavailability was evaluated by growth and bone mineralization response. The phosphates were Riecito (RIO), Monte Fresco (MONTE) and Navay (NAVAY), with a relative bioavailability of 81.0, 68.0 and 68.1 %, respectively, in relation to a dicalcium phosphate (100%). At six weeks of age, body weight (g) and tibia bone ash content (mg.cc (mas) ) were 2063.3 and 215.2, 1944.2 and 199.1, and 1700.5 and 197.6, respectively for the same order of the phosphates, being RIO’s values were similar to DICAL ( 2051.6 g; 217.2 mg.cc) and greater (P
