Chávez Rivas, F.; Petranovskii, V; Zamorano Ulloa, R.
2010-08-01

Resumen en inglés Unreduced and reduced in hydrogen flow copper exchanged synthetic erionite, with a SiO2/Al2O3 molar ratio of 7.7, have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), and electron spin resonance spectroscopy (ESR). The XRD patterns show that the reduction process does not change the zeolite structure, besides the reduced form at 450° C present diffraction lines assigned to copper metallic particles. The DRS measurements have (mas) detected isolated Cu²+ ions as well as plasma resonance peak of copper metallic nanoparticles. The ESR simulation analysis of the spectra measured at 20°C indicates the presence of two different Cu²+ ions sites localized in the erionite matrix. Up to 450° C only one type of sites take place in the reduction process, participating in Cu metal clusters and Cu metal nanoparticles formation, keeping the Cu²+ ions of the second site intact.

Zeolitas Na-A4 como anfitrión de nanopartículas de PbS

Flores-Acosta, M.; Pérez-Salas, R.; Aceves-Torres, R.; Arizpe-Chávez, H.; Sotelo-Lerma, M.; Ramírez-Bon, R.
2006-06-01

Resumen en inglés In this work we report the optical and structural properties of composite materials based on the semiconductor PbS enclosed in type A zeolite. The composite materials were obtained by chemical reaction in several steps of the zeolite in alkaline aqueous solutions containing de Pb2+ and S2- ions successively. Three samples were prepared at temperatures of 40, 50 and 60°C during the chemical reaction with S2- ions. The obtained materials were studied by x-ray diffraction, (mas) scanning and transmission electron microscopy, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and photoluminescence. The experimental results show the formation of spherical-shaped PbS particles with nanometric size and cubic crystalline structure embedded in the zeolite matrix. The absorption spectra of the samples display a well defined absorption band at about 300 nm due to the PbS nanoparticles in the zeolite matrix. In addition, an absorption peak appears in the absorption spectra at about 400 nm assigned to exciton transitions.

GUTIÉRREZ, MANUEL; BECERRA, JOSE; BARRA, RICARDO
2002-12-01

The study evaluated methods of extraction and analysis of tribromophenol. In addition several physico-chemical properties were determined. Regarding the recovery levels obtained in sawdust, recoveries were higher using of Soxhlet technique, followed by ultrasonic treatment and centrifugation. The commercial product was characterized by means of Protonic nuclear magnetic resonance ¹HRMN, 13CRMN, ultraviolet spectra , gas chromatographic with electron capture detector (GC- (mas) ECD), gas chromatographic with mass selective capture detector(GC-MS) and HPLC. Both melting point and octanol water partition coefficient were determined. The stability of the commercial compound was evaluated in the environment. A mixture of the sodium tribromophenato with sawdust were exposed to controlled environmental conditions during 150 days, being verified reduction rate of 52% in 10 days and of 79,9% in 150 days. In the field studies performed in sawmills located near the city of Concepción (central Chile) tribromophenol was detected in the soil component and in sawdust, at concentrations ranging 0,006 to 1,651 mg kg-1
