Full Text Available Political, economical and technological developments affect the life conditions of humanity drastically. Changing and developing life conditions cause the moral values which humans believe and try to carry on decay and degenerate. As a result, harmful behaviors such as violence, disloyalty to parents and teachers, irresponsibility, fraud, violating social rules, drug addiction, committing suicide are increasing among youths recently. In order to prevent the negative behaviors and to make them beneficial for themselves and for the society humanity moral values must be adopted. Schools are at least as responsible as families in terms of bringing up good, virtuous and honest individuals. There are many methods used to endow children with humanity and moral values that direct humans’ behaviors. Utilizing literary works can be regarded as an effective method for character education at schools. Analyzing positive character properties through literary works evokes ethic imagination of students. In addition, this makes the students perceive positive behaviors and attitudes as a value and adopt them. The present study includes both the moral judgment method used for character education based on literary works and its sample application. Dünyada yaşanan siyasi, ekonomik ve teknolojik gelişmeler, insanın hayat şartlarını derinden etkilemektedir. Değişen veya gelişen hayat şartları, insanın inandığı, yaşatmaya çalıştığı insani ve ahlaki değerlerde kaymalara, yozlaşmalara neden olmaktadır. Bunun sonucu olarak özellikle son yıllarda gençler arasında şiddet eğilimi, ebeveynlere ve öğretmenlere karşı asi olma, sorumsuzluk, sahtekârlık, toplumsal kuralları ihlal etme, madde bağımlılığı, intihar gibi kendine ve başkalarına zarar verici davranışlarda artışlar gözlenmektedir. Bireylerin sergilediği olumsuz davranışları engellemek; onların kendilerine ve yaşadıkları topluma yararlı olmalarını sağlamak için insani ve ahlaki değerleri benimsemeleri gerekir. Sağlam karakterli, erdemli bireyler yetiştirmede aileler kadar artık okullar da sorumludur. İnsanın davranışlarına yön veren insani ve ahlaki değerlerin çocuklara kazandırılması için uygulanan çeşitli yöntemler vardır. Okullarda yapılan karakter eğitiminde edebi eserlerden yararlanmak, etkili bir yöntem olarak kabul edilir. Okuma çalışmalarında olumlu karakter özelliklerinin edebî eserler aracılığıyla irdelenmesi, öğrencilerin hem ahlaki hayal güçlerini harekete geçirir hem de olumlu davranış ve tutumları değer olarak algılamalarını ve benimsemelerini sağlar. Bu çalışmada edebî eserlere dayalı yapılan karakter eğitiminde kullanılan ahlaki muhakeme yöntemi ve örnek uygulanmasına yer verilmiştir.

Full Text Available This study which aims to investigate the effect of the achievement and permanence of the secondary school students at teaching grammar by discovery learning strategy was conductedamong a total of 40 sixth grade students, 22 girls and 18 boys, who were educated in Konya, Karatay, Kızören Secondary School in 2016-2017 academic year. In the research process the strategy of teaching through the traditionalpresentationwasused in the control group in the context of a given plan of language learning and in the experimentalgroup, the strategy of teaching through inventionwasused. Experimental and controlgroupsweredeterminedbyrandom. At the beginning of the application period, the whole group was applied as a preliminary test for the relatedlinguisticinformation and as a final test, the wholegroupwasreapplied at the end of the same test. This test wasreapplied at the beginning of the secondsemester to measure the persistencelevel of the students in the subject. While these applicationswerebeingmade, the subject of the linguisticinformationincluded in the scope of the studywasexplained to the students in accordance with the curriculumwithin a certain plan and the education and trainingprocesswasneverinterrupted. The results of the experimentwereanalyzed with the SPSS 22.0 program and it wasdetermined that the students in the experimentalgroupwhoweretaughtbydiscoverylearning strategy weresignificantlyimprovedcompared to the students in the controlgroupwhoweretaughtbytraditionalpresentationstrategy according to the instruction strategy. Inaddition, it wasobserved that therewas a significantdifference in the retentionlevel of informationlearnedaccording to the controlgroup in which the teaching strategy wasappliedthrough the traditionalpresentation strategy in the experimentgroup in which the teaching strategy wasapplied. Full Text Available Çocuk ve gençlik edebiyatı, dil gelişimi ve anlama düzeyine uygun olarak hedef kitlenin duygu ve düşünce dünyalarını zenginleştiren ürünleri kapsamaktadır. Bir geçiş sürecinde olan çocuk ya da genç, çocuk ve gençlik yazını ürünlerinden yararlanarak okuma alışkanlığı kazanır, yazınsal duyarlığını geliştirir ve kimlik gelişimine katkı sağlar. Çeviri kitaplar sayesinde de farklı kültürlerdeki karakterlerle karşılaşarak yeni yaşantılar kazanır ve bu sayede duygu ve düşünce zenginliği edinir. Bu çalışmada Konya’nın merkez ilçeleri olan Karatay, Meram ve Selçuklu’da üç okul belirlenmiş ve her bir okuldan kırk olmak üzere toplamda yüz yirmi 8. sınıf öğrencisine en son okudukları çeviri kitaplar sorulmuştur. Klasik kitaplar çıkarıldığında en fazla okunan ilk iki kitabın “Percy Jackson ve Olimposlular: Şimşek Hırsızı” ile “Gölgelerin Efendisi: Gorlan Harabeleri” olduğu belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada bu kitaplar içerik unsurları olan; konu, tema, kahramanlar, plan, dil ve üslup bakımından incelenmiştir. Veriler nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman incelemesi tekniği kullanılarak elde edilmiş ve içerik analizi tekniğiyle çözümlenmiştir. Bulgulara göre popüler çeviri çocuk romanlarının, macera ve fantastik türde seri kitaplar olduğu ve bölümlerden oluştuğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca kitaplarda ana kahramanın çocuk olduğu ancak olağanüstü varlıkların da yer aldığı, kötülerle mücadelenin işlendiği ve çocukların hayatlarından unsurlara yer verildiği tespit edilmiştir.
