    Giovanni Navarria

    2012-02-01

Full Text Available Italy’s complex history has produced some remarkable path-breaking experiences and quite a few dangerous anomalies (such as Silvio Berlusconi’s media driven political regime, but it has also made the country the perfect ground for testing experimental antibodies that can contrast such anomalies. One of these antibodies is the web-based civil society orbitingaround the blog Beppegrillo.it. This article argues that the story of such community shows the path to follow for the Italian civil society. Grillo and his fellow bloggers in fact have so far demonstrated that new communication media have the potential to free citizens’ from control and at the same time increase their capacity to keep a close watch on power.

    Casarini, M.

    2013-12-01

By Maria Pia Casarini We are now nearing the 70th anniversary of the foundation of this unique institution, established in the city of Fermo in the Marche region of Italy by the late Prof. Silvio Zavatti (d. 1985), a true polar enthusiast working before the time when Italy had any official interest in the polar regions. The Institute has the largest and most comprehensive polar library in Italy; a polar museum with Inuit artifacts and relics of expeditions by the Duke of Abruzzi and Umberto Nobile; and it has published a quarterly journal, "Il Polo", since 1945. Given the increasing official role of Italy in both Arctic and Antarctic research, and the increasing interest of Italian institutions and individuals in the rapidly developing problems of Arctic development, governance and environmental protection, the Institute aims to play an increased role in assisting Italian polar efforts through its resources and scholarship. For instance, the Institute is a member of the Arctic Table at the Italian Foreign Ministry by which Italy's role as an observer in the Arctic Council is mapped. The journal "Il Polo" has become bilingual and is becoming a global polar journal with survey papers by distinguished polar leaders. We are linked with PEI (Polar Educators International), which spreads knowledge of the polar regions in schools.

    2014-07-01

It provides a brief biographical sketch of Gesell, demonstrating both his relative prominence as a social reformer during the interwar years as well as his close affiliation with anarchism. The article then gives a concise summary of Gesell's theory of effective demand and...

Pierre-Joseph Proudhon’s ideas on credit and money have been considered to be not very relevant and above all unrealistic. However, they have known an uncommon posterity. They influenced Silvio Gesell who is John Maynard Keynes’s reference. This article analyses Pierre-Joseph Proudhon’s exchange bank plan. We show that Pierre- Joseph Proudhon’s ideas on credit and money are opened to criticism but require a reexamination because we can draw many lessons from them.

    Bagaev, V.I.; Mikhajlov, I.N.; Ortlepp, Kh.G.; Fromm, V.D.

    1979-01-01

The effect of nonaxial and hexadecapole deformation on spectra of moun atoms is considered, the model of rigid nonaxial rotator being used. Experimental data on μ -238 U obtained on the JINR synchrocyclotron are presented. The effect of monopolar, quadrupolar and hexadecapolar parts of potential on muon spectrum is studied using a separated beam of negative 105 MeV/c muons, as the contribution of other harmonics is negligible. Wave functions of 238 U nucleus are determined in the framework of the Davydov-Filipov model. The values of charge distribution parameters obtained for 238 U are compared with available ones. The comparison shows that the effect of nuclear polarization on quadrupolar splitting of n→n-1 transitions decreases with the growth of n. Quadrupolar splitting of 4F→3D transitions is sufficiently large for experimental studies. Besides, vacuum polarization, radial charge distribution etc. produce an insignificant effect on the above transitions

The article purports to examine the ideas which the main characters of Canaã, by Graça Aranha, express on the relations between race and culture, as well as on the racial melting process and the future whitening of the population of Brazil in a brotherly and solar Utopia. These ideas are correlated, on one side, to the concern of Silvio Romero, Euclides da Cunha and Araripe Jr. with the adequation between geography, race and culture; on the other side, to the concern of S. Paulo's Modernist movement to define a Brazilian national character. This concern can be seen, on the level of symbolical representation, in Macunaíma and, on the level of a more systematic theorizing, in Portrait of Brazil, which goes so far as to mention eugenics when discussing the future Brazilian ethnical type.

They consider two ways to solve the problem: the religious dialogue that leads Turkeys to convert to Christianism and then make legitimate their conquest, for example, the short work of Nicholas of Cusa De pace fidei, and partially the Epistula ad Mahumetem of Pius II, and the foundation of a great alliance of Christian princes: vg. the paneuropean project of George Podiebrad, inspired by the old idea of crusade.

Full Text Available The review provides a critical survey of the book which is the first anthology on cognitive onomastics. The book comprises articles by ten onomasticians from Austria, Hungary, Germany, Poland, and Finland for the period 2004–2014, selected by the editor Silvio Brendler as those most clearly expressing ideas and the diversity of the given research field. The book also includes the work Of Names (1655 by the English philosopher Thomas Hobbes, as the forerunner of the cognitive approach to language and to proper names. The articles are grouped into sections: Onomastics and Cognitive Science (1 article; Nature of Names (3 articles; Grammatical Description of Names (1 article; Meaning of Names (3 articles; Names in Literature (2 articles. Each article is analyzed in detail by the reviewer. The productivity of cognitive linguistics’ tools for onomastic research (such as Construction Grammar, the theory of prototypes, conceptual metaphor, axiological profiling, etc. is noted. A particular attention is drawn to the fact that onomastics not only borrows ideas and tools from «wider» cognitive linguistics, but also generates its own cognitive theories, such as Ernst Hansack’s theory of name and Silvio Brendler’s nomematics. In conclusion, the reviewer emphasizes the didactic and awarenessraising value of this anthology, as well as the relevance of the genre for this new and largely controversial research area: it provides the interested readers with an opportunity to make their own judgment in regards to cognitive onomastics, drawing information from primary sources. In general, getting acquainted with this book is very useful as it raises the concern of what cognitive onomastics is in our country and whether a similar book based on domestic material would help answer this question.

    Franz, Silvio

I will show how a well known neural network model \\x9Dthe perceptro provides a simple solvable model of glassy behavior and jamming. The glassy minima of the energy function of this model can be studied in full analytic detail. This allows the identification of two kind of soft modes the first ones associated to the existence a marginal glass phase and a hierarchical structure of the energy landscape, the second ones associated to isostaticity and marginality of jamming. These results highlight the universality of the spectrum of normal modes in disordered systems, and open the way toward a detailed analytical understanding of the vibrational spectrum of low-temperature glasses. This work was supported by a Grant from the Simons Foundation (454941 to Silvio Franz).

13. L'Aquila's reconstruction challenges: has Italy learned from its previous earthquake disasters?

    Science.gov (United States)

    Ozerdem, Alpaslan; Rufini, Gianni

    2013-01-01

Italy is an earthquake-prone country and its disaster emergency response experiences over the past few decades have varied greatly, with some being much more successful than others. Overall, however, its reconstruction efforts have been criticised for being ad hoc, delayed, ineffective, and untargeted. In addition, while the emergency relief response to the L'Aquila earthquake of 6 April 2009-the primary case study in this evaluation-seems to have been successful, the reconstruction initiative got off to a very problematic start. To explore the root causes of this phenomenon, the paper argues that, owing to the way in which Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has politicised the process, the L'Aquila reconstruction endeavour is likely to suffer problems with local ownership, national/regional/municipal coordination, and corruption. It concludes with a set of recommendations aimed at addressing the pitfalls that may confront the L'Aquila reconstruction process over the next few years. © 2013 The Author(s).

Palabras clave: Libia, Italia, Italia, Norte de África, refugiados, asilo político, inmigración, Muammar Gaddafi, Muamar Gadafi, siglo XX, siglo XXI._________________________Abstract:The migration from Africa to Northern Europe is not the achievement of the modern era. Undoubtedly, its greatest wave can be dated back to the end of the 20th century. Libya can be considered one of the most important countries having part in this process. The regime led by Gaddafi was defeated after introducing the sanctions of the UN against the country. As a result of it, the income from oil also decreased. As a response Tripoli raised the promotion of the migration from Africa to Europe onto governmental level. After the turn of the millenium it was Rome that applied to cancellation the sanctions against Libya. As the number if the immigrants arriving in the southern islands of Italy became intolerable. Full Text Available On March 17, 2011 the conductor Riccardo Muti stood in the orchestra pit at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and, in the presence of the Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, and the Italian President, Giorgio Napolitano, denounced the Italian government’s cuts to funding for the arts and culture. He then invited the entire audience to join the opera’s chorus in an encore of Va’ Pensiero, the hymn of the Hebrew slaves in Nabucco, to protest the cuts. Within two days of the sing-a-long, the Italian government reversed the course it set more than ten months before and agreed to a tax that would be used to restore funds to the arts and culture budget. This article traces how and why these acts of protest in Italy developed, succeeded, and then were appropriated by transnational activists interested in encouraging popular constitutionalism. Because the entire process made considerable use of Facebook, blogs, YouTube, and Twitter, this case study simultaneously explores how a popular protest became a successful expression of popular constitutionalism, and considers how the messages of that protest evolved across a transnational public sphere that encompassed Web 2.0.

With the exception of Davis's book, which is a detailed treatment of a single seminal figure, they range widely and seek grounds for broad comparative assessments. To find one's way in this potentially dizzying display of critical and theoretical acumen, it will be most helpful to proceed from the general to the particular, from high theory to practical criticism.

Purpose: The compression of a nervous structure by an aberrant vessel may be asymptomatic or produce an important symptoms, in these cases CT and MRI show relevant information. Materials and Methods: Between January 1998 and March 2001, we studied 27 patients: 8 with trigeminal neuralgia, 7 with hemi facial spasm, 4 vertigo and tinnitus, 2 hemianopsia, 1 with neuralgia of the amygdalin fossa, 1 with bitonal voice, 1 with tongue deviation with fascicular movements, 2 essential hypertension and 1 with severe headache. All of them had a neurologic evaluation from 2 specialists and 2 neuro radiologists interpreted the results. Results: The CT and RMI images with special sequences allowed to prove the compression of the entry segments of the V, VII, IX, X and XII cranial nerves, of the optic chiasma and the ventrolateral aspect of the medulla oblongata in close relation with the vasopressor centre. Also they demonstrate a rare vessel in the Silvio aqueduct avoiding the normal flow of the CSF. Of the total of patients that were studied, 37% had surgical confirmation. Conclusion: CT and RMI are sensitive and specific methods for the detection of vascular compressions of nervous structures. (author)

Gaze-following is a pivotal social behaviour that, although largely automatic, is permeable to high-order variables like political affiliation. A few years ago we reported that the gaze of Italian right-wing voters was selectively captured by the gaze of their leader Silvio Berlusconi. This effect was particularly evident in voters who saw themselves as similar to Berlusconi. Two years later, we were able to run the present follow-up study because Berlusconi's popularity had drastically dropped due to sex and political scandals, and he resigned from office. In a representative subsample of our original group, we investigated whether perceived similarity and gaze-following reflected Berlusconi's loss in popularity. We were also able to test the same hypothesis in an independent group of right-wing voters when their leader, Renata Polverini, resigned as Governor of 'Regione Lazio' due to political scandals. Our results show that the leaders' fall in popularity paralleled the reduction of their gaze's attracting power, as well as the decrease in similarity perceived by their voters. The less similar right-wing voters felt to their leader, the less they followed his/her gaze. Thus, the present experimental findings suggest that gaze-following can be modulated by complex situational and dispositional factors such as leader's popularity and voter-leader perceived similarity.

Since the first experiments with plasma focus facilities in 1960' s. These devices are known as intense sources of neutron when the working gas contains deuterium with a proper density. Most of the emitted neutrons are produced by D-D reactions, but the mechanism of these reactions in not still clear completely. In this paper, the results of experimental investigations of neutron emission characteristics in D ena p lasma focus facility (Filipov type, 90 kJ, 25 kV) over a range of discharge voltages and pressures are presented. Out working gases are D 2 and D 2+%1 Kr, two different conic and flat insert anodes were employed. We have simultaneously measured the total emission in our experiments for analyzing the neutron generation mechanism in this device. We have found the upper and lower pressure limits and the optimum pressure for neutron generation, and we have observed the double pluses structure of neutron signal for the first time in this device. Form the experimental results, it seems that both thermonuclear and no thermonuclear mechanisms are always present in neutron generation, but their contribution in the total yield is strongly dependent on experimental conditions (initial pressure, discharge voltage, gas admixture, etc.). It was found that the range of variation of total neutron yield and neutron emission anisotropy factor for experiments with D + %1 Kr is wider than experiments with D 2, and the best neutron emission results belongs to discharges in D 2 + %1 Kr with a conic insert anode. By employing D 2 + %1 Kr with a conic insert anode, and varying pressure between 0.3-2 torr at a discharge voltage of 16 kV, it can be deduced that in low pressures ( n ∝ I α ρ ∝E α / 2 was found about 3.62 for D 2 + %1 Kr and 3 for D 2

Full Text Available In one of his last appearances as presenter of Newsnight (BBC 20 May 2014, veteran journalist Jeremy Paxman interviewed Silvio Berlusconi. Three minutes into the voiced-over interpreter-mediated dialogue, the journalist known as "Newsnight’s Rottweiler-in-chief" asked: "Is it true you called [Angela Merkel] an unfuckable lardarse?" Momentarily flustered, Berlusconi toyed with the earpiece from which he listened to the interpreter translate. Recomposing himself he replied: "Non ho mai, in venti anni di politica, insultato nessuno", [I have never, in twenty years of politics, insulted anyone]. While the veracity of Berlusconi’s response is debateable, the issues at stake in this contribution are others. Combining approaches from ethnomethodology with critical discourse analysis (CDA, the article examines three aspects of the communicative event. The first focuses on its technical and linguistic construction, and the (instrumental? choice of voice-over actor. The second aspect asks what pprompted the BBC’s decision to air the offending language, albeit through translation. Jeremy Paxman’s views on the role of interpreting and voiceover in the construction of the interview were sought, providing insight on the social actor’s perspective. The third aspect relates to the discursive construction of the event and outlines the intertextual chains (Fairclough 1995 it generated. A small dataset of British newspaper articles on the interview is analysed. Finally, the contribution offers some closing remarks.

  16. The msi and the role of fascism in Italian political culture

    2013-05-01

Full Text Available This paper analyzes the role of the italian social movement in Italy (MSI in the twentieth century. The key to understand its influence would lie in the peculiarities of the political regime emerged from the ruins of fascism. With the proclamation of the republic many fascists enrolled in the ranks of the christian Democrats and other parties of the right, leaving the MSI as sole heir of fascism. That did not stop working with the christian Democrats through the strategy of «inserimento». When the christian Democrats began their approach to the italian socialist Party, the MSI was clearly excluded and located in a relatively marginal position. Its later resurgence may be explained considering the radical changes in italian politics in the sixties and seventies; circumstances which favoured the arrival of Giorgio Almirante as leader of MSI in 1969. In that period, the MSI presented itself as the political party of restored order and ready to fight subversion (communist itself. During the 80s, the MSI moved between the ‘strategy-Party Protest’ leaded by Almirante and the idea of a ‘civil society Party’ defended by Rauti. In the end, the MSI, after the change of leadership of Almirante by Gianfranco Fini, began a new path which stated loyalty to the values of fascism, strengthened by the crisis of communism. This MSI new discourse eased its growth in circumstances in which the traditional parties and the Italian Republican system as a whole were practically about to collapse. Subsequently, the post-fascist Alianza Nacional emerged; a political formation which later on merged into Forza Italia, leaded by Silvio Berlusconi.

Libyan president Muammar Kaddafi is progressively getting from international isolation which is taking place for a decade. Libya admitted a responsibility in assassination on the airplane of PanAm Company over Scottish town Lockenrbie from 1988. Libyan Arab Jamahiriya is willing to pay out totally up to 2.7 billion USD to the mourners of the victims. Consequently UN sanctions from 1992 on Libya were cancelled in 1999. These sanctions were completely cancelled last year in the autumn. In the end of the last year Libya gave up the program of development of mass destruction arms and USA consequently cancelled a prohibition for USA citizens to travel to Libya. However American economic sanctions still remain valid. M. Kaddafi also broke diplomatic blockade in the last weeks, when Italian premier Silvio Berlusconi and British premier Toni Blair visited him. British-Dutch concern Royal Dutch-Shell obtained in Libya important contact closely before visit of Toni Blair. Italy covers a quarter of its own oil demand by import from Libya. After breaking up of American sanctions the duel between American and British companies on obtaining of the best position in the country will start again. UN embargo caused Libya loss of billion USD of export incomes. The incomes from oil export represented 13.4 billion USD in the last year. In October of last year Libyan premier Sh. Ghani published a list of 361 companies in energetics, metallurgy, building and agriculture, which Libya wants to privatise during this year. Importers of Libyan oil, as well as the companies, which are interested in licences for oil mining in Libya are also analysed in the paper

Full Text Available This paper is the result of the doctorate research thesis developed by the author in the School of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo-FAUUSP, under the advisory of Prof. Silvio Soares Macedo. It aims to deep some discussions held during the oral examination by the professors Ana Gabriela Godinho Lima, Euler Sandeville, Miranda M. Magnoli and Nidia Nacib Pontuschka. The thesis focused here is called “The role of Landscape Discipline in the Education of Architects and Urbanists”. The title of this article itself is a result of the comments made by Prof. Euler Sandeville when he suggested to enhance the original thesis title, providing a more comprehensive, complex and complete idea about the landscape discipline. The reader will not found the answers to the questions posed, however he or she will be invited to reflect about the landscape discipline concepts and contempts and will be motivared to search for an identity to the universe presented here. We expect to promote a collective construction about the discipline and its roles. The thesis itself opens up the discussion about the architect and urbanist education quality, by explaining the desired ethic, by reviewing the responsabilities, the contempts and proceedings of the Landscape Design courses and by questioning their effective contribution to the Architecture and Urbanism schools in Brazil. The hypothesis being demonstrated is that the Landscape architecture disciplines are important to the profession because they enable the architect and urbanist to undertake the legal competences, established by Brazilian legislation, and allows this professional to assume the ethical commitments with the questions and problems related to the territory occupation issues, dealing with environmental resources and public spaces, in the most variable scales.

    2014-07-01

This volume contains the invited and contributed papers presented at the 14th Conference on Theoretical Nuclear Physics in Italy held in Cortona, Italy, from 29-31 October, 2013. The meeting was held at the Palazzone, an elegant Renaissance Villa, commissioned by the Cardinal Silvio Passerini (1469-1529), Bishop of Cortona, and presently owned by the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa. The aim of this biennial Conference is to bring together Italian theorists working in various fields of nuclear physics to discuss their latest results and confront their points of view in a lively and informal way. This offers the opportunity to stimulate new ideas and promote collaborations between different research groups. The Conference was attended by 46 participants, coming from 13 Italian Universities and 11 Laboratories and Sezioni of the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare - INFN. The program of the conference, prepared by the Organizing Committee (Ignazio Bombaci, Aldo Covello, Laura Elisa Marcucci and Sergio Rosati) focused on the following main topics: Few-Nucleon Systems Nuclear Structure Nuclear Matter and Nuclear Dynamics Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions and Quark-Gluon Plasma Nuclear Astrophysics Nuclear Physics with Electroweak Probes Structure of Hadrons and Hadronic Matter. In the last session of the Conference there were two invited review talks related to experimental activities of great current interest. Giacomo De Angelis from the Laboratori Nazionali di Legnaro spoke about the INFN SPES radioactive ion beam project. Sara Pirrone, INFN Sezione di Catania, gave a talk on the symmetry energy and isospin physics with the CHIMERA detector. Finally, Mauro Taiuti (Università di Genova), National Coordinator of the INFN-CSN3 (Nuclear Physics Experiments), reported on the present status and future challenges of experimental nuclear physics in Italy. We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of INFN who helped make the conference possible. I Bombaci, A Covello

Cachexia is a predictor of reduced survival, independent of important parameters such as age, heart failure functional class, and functional capacity. Muscle and fat wasting can also predict adverse outcome during cardiac failure. Only more recently were these conditions defined in International Consensus. Considering that heart failure is an inflammatory disease, cardiac cachexia has been diagnosed by finding a body weight loss >5%, in the absence of other diseases and independent of other criteria. Muscle wasting has been defined as lean appendicular mass corrected for height squared of 2 standard deviations or more below the mean for healthy individuals between 20 years and 30 years old from the same ethnic group. The etiology of heart failure-associated cachexia and muscle wasting is multifactorial, and the underlying physiopathological mechanisms are not completely understood. The most important factors are reduced food intake, gastrointestinal alterations, immunological activation, neurohormonal abnormalities, and an imbalance between anabolic and catabolic processes. Cachexia and muscle wasting have clinical consequences in several organs and systems including the gastrointestinal and erythropoietic systems, and the heart, previously affected by the primary disease. We hope that a better understanding of the mechanisms involved in their physiopathology will allow the development of pharmacological and nonpharmacological therapies to effectively prevent and treat heart failure-induced cachexia and muscle wasting before significant body

The 12th European Workshop on Advanced Control and Diagnosis (ACD 2015) took place at the Research Centre NTIS - New Technologies for the Information Society, Faculty of Applied Sciences, University of West Bohemia, Pilsen, Czech Republic, on November 19 - 20, 2015. The annual European Workshop on Advanced Control and Diagnosis has been organized since 2003 by Control Engineering departments of several European universities in Germany, France, the UK, Poland, Italy, Hungary, and Denmark to bring together senior and junior academics and engineers from diverse fields of automatic control, fault detection, and signal processing. The workshop provides an opportunity for researchers and developers to present their recent theoretical developments, practical applications, or even open problems. It also offers a great opportunity for industrial partners to express their needs and priorities and to review the current activities in the fields. A total of 74 papers have been submitted for ACD 2015. Based on the peer reviews 48 papers were accepted for the oral presentation and 10 papers for the poster presentation. The accepted papers covered areas of control theory and applications, identification, estimation, signal processing, and fault detection. In addition, four excellent plenary lectures were delivered by Prof. Fredrik Gustafsson (Automotive Sensor Mining for Tire Pressure Monitoring), Prof. Vladimír Havlena (Advanced Process Control for Energy Efficiency), Prof. Silvio Simani (Advanced Issues on Wind Turbine Modelling and Control), and Prof. Robert Babuška (Learning Control in Robotics). The ACD 2015 was for the first time in the workshop history co-sponsored by the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC). On behalf of the ACD 2015 organising committee, we would like to thank all those who prepared and submitted papers, participated in the peer review process, supported, and attended the workshop.

Full Text Available Luciana Littizzetto, postfeminism, and the dangerous art of playing the foolThe goal of this paper is to study the performative strategies by which the comic persona of Luciana Littizzetto deconstructs post-patriarchal representations of femininity and womanhood in contemporary Italian popular culture. I argue that Littizzetto’s character(s (on television and in films engages in a ‘postfeminist’ critique of the system of sex and power, in which many women have recently found their fortune, and that is primarily embodied by the showgirls and/or female politicians supported by the ex-Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. By positioning herself as the woman who is excluded from the circle of power to which other (beautiful and attractive women have access, Littizzetto’s character(s unveils the contradictions that embed ‘postfeminist’ models of female emancipation, blessed (or cursed by the archaic power of beauty, as well as empowered by sexual liberation. I will purposefully use the attribute ‘postfeminist’ to describe both the comic subject and the female ‘White Clowns’ in Littizzetto’s comic performance. In this way, I hope to highlight the complexity of the attribute itself, rather than using the term as a fixed category of analysis. In my view, ‘postfeminism’ indicates both continuities between contemporary practices of female emancipation and second wave feminism, as well as a dismissal. In my essay, I will show that Littizzetto’s comic act does not aim at denigrating the ‘other’ woman and lacks the underlining moralistic attitude of other critical voices, such as Lorella Zanardo and her Il corpo delle donne. Rather, it is crafted against a ‘queen’ whose power is not denied but rather acknowledged and therefore naked. By physical gestures and verbal expressions, her living and acting persona ultimately exposes the masquerade of femininity, both her own and that of others.

On his way back to Rome, after the Congress of Mantua and a protracted stay in Siena, Pope Pius II was met in Viterbo by envoys from Rome begging him to return to Rome as quickly as possible. In his response to the envoys, the oration Flentem et admodum dolentem, the pope promised to return as soon as possible, underlining some positive results of the Congress – otherwise a failure-as well as the advantages to the Romans accruing from the Papacy.

Full Text Available Silvio Caccia, Roberto William Invernizzi, Alessandro Nobili, Luca Pasina IRCCS-Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri, Milan, Italy Abstract: Cariprazine is a potential antipsychotic awaiting approval from the US Food and Drug Administration. It is a dopamine D2- and D3-receptor partial agonist, with higher affinity for D3 receptors, as opposed to the D2 antagonism of most older antipsychotic agents. Like most lipophilic antipsychotics, it undergoes extensive hepatic metabolism by cytochrome P450 (CYP, mainly the highly variable 3A4, with the formation of active metabolites. However, the parent compound – particularly its active didesmethyl derivative – is cleared very slowly, with elimination half-lives in schizophrenic patients ranging from 2–5 days for cariprazine to 2–3 weeks for didesmethyl-cariprazine. Exposure to the latter was several times that for cariprazine, although didesmethyl-cariprazine did not reach steady state within the 3 weeks of 12.5 mg/day dosing. Preliminary information on its therapeutic role comes from press releases and a few abstracts presented at scientific meetings. In short-term controlled trials, it was more effective than placebo in reducing positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia, with an effective dose range of 1.5–12 mg/day. Although cariprazine was associated with a higher incidence of akathisia and extrapyramidal side effects than placebo, it did not cause weight gain, metabolic abnormalities, prolactin increase, or corrected QT prolongation. Similarly, cariprazine's efficacy and tolerability for the treatment of bipolar disorder (manic/mixed and depressive episodes was established in the dose range of 3–12 mg/day, although again no long-term data are available. Well-designed clinical trials, mainly direct "head-to-head" comparisons with other second-generation antipsychotic agents, are needed to define the therapeutic role and safety profile of cariprazine in schizophrenia and

He soon decided that the most effective way would be to summon the European kings and princes to a congress on the matter, to be held in a city in Northern Italy which would be more accessible for the participants from beyond the Alps than the City of Rome.

In this issue, we have six articles that all carry, I believe, important theoretical and managerial contributions, as well as suggestions of new research questions. I highlight some of these contributions this editorial. In "THE PROFILE OF THE UNIVERSITY MANAGER OF INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION IN BRAZIL", Fernanda Geremias Leal, Rafaela Ribeiro Céspedes and Luciane Stallivieri outline the profile of the international cooperation managers of the Brazilian federal public universities. From the data analysis of 46 of these institutions, they identify the positive aspects and the problems of the positioning of the international relations department in the university structure. It also analyses the personal experience of managers with activities of an international nature. Given the relevance and timeliness of the theme of internationalization of universities in the exchange of students and professors among others, and given the lack of information about these activities in Brazilian universities, this is a timely and essential contribution for those who research university management in general and its internationalization in particular. In POLITICAL PERSPECTIVES OF RELATIONSHIP NETWORKS TO INTERNATIONALIZATION OF FIRMS IN AN EMERGING COUNTRY, Jefferson Marlon Monticelli, Silvio Luís de Vasconcellos e Ivan Lapuente Garrido analyze, using the political perspective of neo-institutionalism, how institutions, especially government, influence the internationalization of Brazilian Wine sector They contribute to the understanding of how the political relationship takes within the economic sectors and between government and business sectors occur. Inthe works of Ukrainian literature about the Prophet wrote the «Word about Law and Grace» of Hilarion, «Tale of temporary years», parables of Cyril Turov. The figure of Moses himself repeatedly Franko. So, we have allusions to the image of the prophet in a number of literary models of the early period (in the story«Petrii and Dovbushchuky» (1876, the poems «Ex nixilo», «Funeral», the collection of poems «My Emerald», in the story «Cross paths», collection «Semper tiro ». Many researchers point out the likely influence of A.Mickiewicz's ideas of "leadership" on creating the image of Moses - the spokesman of nationalist ideas. So, O. Zabuzhko speaks about the designation of the ideas of "Polish messianism" on the Ukrainian poet. The poem was inspired by "The Second Book of Moses: Exodus", but the main theme of the work is the death of Moses as a prophet, unacknowledged by his people. The artistic work is based on the biblical legend of Moses, who for forty years led the Jewish people to a desert in search of "promised land". Key words: Franko, Moses, an intertext, a philosophical poem, the Bible.

The detailed explanation is found in the text. How does SINFONI work? What is Integral Field Spectroscopy (IFS)? The idea of IFS is to obtain a spectrum of each defined spatial element ("spaxel") in the field-of-view. Several techniques to do this are available - in SINFONI, the slicer principle is applied. This involves (PR Photo 24i/04) that * the two-dimensional field-of-view is cut into slices, the so-called slitlets (short slits in contrast to normal long-slit spectroscopy), * the slitlets are then arranged next to each other to form a pseudo-long-slit, * a grating is used to disperse the light, and * the photons are detected with a Near-InfraRed detector. Following data reduction, the set of generated spectra can be re-arranged in the computer to form a 3-dimensional "data cube" of two spatial, and one wavelength dimension. Thus the term "3D-Spectroscopy" is sometimes used for IFS. Appendix B: Linus' orbital motion around
